Hi Guys Chelena here – It’s Fashion Friday and in this week’s post I share shoe options for you to consider for your engagement shoot – Read on for some food for thought:

Your engagement shoot is a fun time for you and your fiancé to get away from the perils of wedding planning. You get to smooch & hug and have a romantic few hours together with the benefit of getting amazing pictures for you to enjoy and reminisce over – In fact check out my earlier blog post on Engagement Shoots here if you have no idea what I am talking about!

It’s really important that you feel comfortable on the shoot, you want to dress in a manner which you feel comfortable, but that also looks fabulous.

I will be doing a few blog posts in the “Fashion Friday” series looking specifically at the engagement shoot,  looking at outfits & accessories which you could wear to ensure that your pictures reflect the ‘best version of you!’

This blog post starts with footwear as it is important from two perspectives:

1)   Yours shoes should pop in your pictures and make a statement.

2)   You want to be comfortable on the shoot.

The session can last a few hours so the last thing you want is to be teetering around in agony.

I suggest you consider the following shoe options: heels, wedges and or flats to ensure both angles are covered off.

Heels

Heels give a lady a swish in her step, elongates her legs, accentuates curves & most importantly increases confidence. Now I suggest that you go for a heel height which you are comfortable with; yes heels give you the benefits of the above but it’s pointless if you are going to look awkward and uncoordinated in the pictures.

I suggest going for an option with a concealed platform as that gives you the added height as well as the comfort needed.

Consider going for a bright pair which will pop in the pictures, you could coordinate your shoe colour with a clutch bag or a hair accessory or even match it with the colour of your fiancé’s bow tie for added aesthetics.

Wedges

Wedges are a great shoe option for the spring/summer and are often available in a peep toe style so be sure to get a pedi before your session to really have a look that’s pulled together.

Flats

Flats are a really cute shoe choice & work with most outfits. They are perfect with a pair of skinny jeans or even with a sexy dress to dress it down a bit.

Flat shoes come in a variety of styles; round toe, pointed toe, peep toe, accessorized with bows or flowers.

Consider going for a pair with a cool pattern or some stud detailing to give some interest to your feet.
